Invest in Knowledge: PUCSR Relaunches the 8th Generation Talent Reading Club
PHNOM PENH, March 3, 2026 — The Saturday afternoon tradition of intellectual curiosity is officially back. Starting from February 28 through June 13, 2026, the Reading Club Gen 8 will host weekly sessions from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, offering a collaborative space for young Cambodians to transform “reading” from a solitary task into a vibrant community experience.
Cultivating the “Reading Habit”
The 8th Generation Talent Club is built on the philosophy that a book is both a mentor and a friend. The program’s core objectives are designed to create lasting behavioral change:
- Inspiration & Passion: Moving beyond academic requirements to find genuine joy in diverse literature.
- Habit Formation: Utilizing the “Saturday Reunion” format to build the consistency required for a sustainable, lifelong reading habit.
- Literacy Awareness: Raising the collective consciousness about how critical reading is for the development of a modern, informed society.
The Rewards of Participation
From our perspective at Schools Cambodia, the benefits of joining a structured reading club like PUCSR’s go far beyond just finishing a book. Participants can expect:
- Skill Sharpness: Measurable improvements in both reading comprehension and creative writing through group discussions and analysis.
- Social Capital: Building deep, meaningful relationships with like-minded peers who value self-development.
- Library Access: All members receive a free book borrowing card, removing financial barriers to expensive or rare titles.
- Tangible Recognition: Upon completion, members are awarded special certificates and prizes, adding a professional credential to their personal portfolios.
Join the Movement
Whether you are a lifelong bookworm or someone looking to start your reading journey, Gen 8 offers the perfect balance of “Academic Rigor” and “Community Fun.” Investing in knowledge through reading is the most reliable way to expand your horizons.
