Kampong Cham Celebrates Excellence: Parade Honors Model Schools and Sports Champions

KAMPONG CHAM CITY, February 22, 2026 — The streets of Kampong Cham were filled with pride as the community gathered to celebrate a year of unprecedented success for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) in the province. The parade highlighted the dedication of educators and students who have transformed the local educational landscape.

A Banner Year for Model Schools

A key highlight of the celebration was the recognition of 23 schools in Kampong Cham that were named Model School Winners. These institutions were selected based on the national “Model School Standard,” which evaluates:

  • Student Learning Outcomes: Demonstrating high academic performance and soft skill development.
  • Effective Teaching: Implementation of innovative and student-centered methodologies.
  • Operational Excellence: Transparent school-based management and accountability.

The parade also served as a victory lap for the province’s athletes. The crowd cheered for the winners of the Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen Cup, Cambodia’s premier football tournament.

  • Awarding Excellence: The ceremony honored the athletes and coaches whose discipline and teamwork brought home the Number 1 Winner award, cementing the province’s reputation for athletic prowess.
