NEW YORK CITY, February 15, 2026 — Five elite students from NUM International College have just completed a transformative journey at the WIMUN (World Federation of United Nations Associations Model UN) Conference in New York City.
As one of the most accurate simulations of the United Nations in the world, WIMUN brought together over 1,000 delegates from across the globe. For the NUM delegation, the experience was truly historic, with the opening and closing ceremonies held within the iconic halls of the United Nations Headquarters.
Diplomacy in Action
Participating in a Model UN (MUN) at this level is about more than just debate; it is about learning the complex art of international consensus.
The students engaged in:
- Resolution Drafting: Working with delegates from dozens of countries to create solutions for global issues.
- Lobbying & Negotiation: Learning that leadership is often about listening as much as it is about speaking.
- UN Rules of Procedure: Mastering the specific “WIMUN” approach, which mirrors how the actual UN operates in real-time.
Cultural Ambassadors: The Cambodia Booth
Beyond the committee rooms, the NUM students took on the role of national ambassadors. They organized a dedicated booth to showcase Cambodia and the National University of Management.
In an interactive “Guess the Fact” game, international delegates were invited to learn about Cambodia’s rich history and modern progress to win traditional souvenirs. This grassroots diplomacy helped put Cambodia on the map for hundreds of young leaders from other continents.
“The More You See, The More You Become”
NUM International College emphasizes that true leadership cannot be taught solely through a textbook. By placing students in a high-pressure, multicultural environment like New York City, the university is building “authentic experiences” that shape character.
“Leadership extends beyond the classroom,” the college shared, reflecting on the trip. This international exposure ensures that NUM graduates are not just ready for the local job market, but are prepared to take their place on the global stage.
