A Green Milestone: ISPP Officially Opens the “Falcons Hub”
PHNOM PENH, March 3, 2026 — Today marks a historic chapter for international education in Cambodia. The International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) community gathered to officially inaugurate the Falcons Hub, a state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility designed to be the beating heart of campus life.
The Hub is more than a structure; it is a physical manifestation of ISPP’s commitment to wellness, community, and global responsibility.
Cambodia’s First LEED Platinum Achievement
The most groundbreaking feature of the Falcons Hub is its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification. This is the highest level of recognition awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council, making the Falcons Hub a pioneer of sustainable architecture in Cambodia.
To achieve Platinum status, the Falcons Hub integrated several advanced systems:
- Energy Efficiency: Optimized cooling and lighting systems that drastically reduce the building’s carbon footprint in the tropical climate.
- Water Conservation: Innovative recovery systems for rainwater and greywater usage.
- Sustainable Materials: Sourcing non-toxic, recycled, and low-impact materials to ensure a healthy indoor environment.
- Human-Centric Design: Prioritizing natural light, air quality, and acoustic comfort to enhance student focus and teacher well-being.
A Hub for Learning and Wellness
From our perspective at Schools Cambodia, the Falcons Hub represents the future of “Human-Centric” school design. It serves as a versatile space where different aspects of student life intersect:
- Collaborative Learning: Flexible spaces that allow for cross-disciplinary projects beyond traditional classroom walls.
- Community Connection: A central gathering point for parents, faculty, and students to foster the “Falcon Spirit.”
- Holistic Wellness: Dedicated areas designed to promote physical health and mental clarity, essential for a rigorous IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum.
We congratulate the ISPP leadership and the entire community for this visionary achievement. The Falcons Hub isn’t just a building for today; it is a promise of a sustainable tomorrow for the students of Cambodia.
