Eco-Chic Excellence: Makson International Academy 598 Campus Hosts Recycled Fashion Talent Show
PHNOM PENH, February 2026 — The Early Years (EY) division at Makson International Academy 598 Campus recently turned the spotlight on environmental conservation with an imaginative talent show. Specifically involving the EY3 and EY4 classes, the event featured a unique fashion line where “rubbish” was reimagined into runway-ready couture.
Designing for a Greener Future
The event was a collaborative effort between students and teachers, who worked together as designers to promote a united goal of recycling. Every piece in the collection was crafted exclusively from environmentally friendly, recycled products, including:
- Paper and Newspapers: Transformed into structured skirts and intricate headpieces.
- Sacks and Plastic Bags: Repurposed into durable and avant-garde garments.
- Plastic Straws and colored pencils are used as detailed embellishments to add texture and flair.
Fostering Individuality and Style
Beyond its environmental message, the talent show served as a platform for students to display their growing “individuality and inventiveness”.
- Artistic Development: The project allowed children to explore different materials, showcasing their unique artistic styles.
- Supportive Environment: The fun and creative atmosphere encouraged students to develop confidence while learning about the importance of protecting the planet.
- Collaborative Spirit: Teachers and students worked side-by-side, proving that teamwork is the ultimate key to “imagination and innovation”.
Through this “Eco-Chic” talent show, Makson International Academy is setting a colorful example of how schools can integrate global issues like climate change into the early childhood curriculum in a way that is both meaningful and memorable.
