Shaping Young Minds: BELTEI Hosts “How to Be a Good Preschool Teacher” Workshop
PHNOM PENH, February 25, 2026 — BELTEI International School successfully concluded a major professional development seminar aimed at elevating the standards of early childhood English education. The workshop brought together 247 English teachers from all BELTEI branches across the capital for an intensive session focused on the unique challenges and opportunities of the preschool classroom.
The closing ceremony was presided over by H.E. Ly Bunchhay, Vice CEO of BELTEI Group, representing H.E. Dr. Ly Chheng, the Founder and CEO. The event served as both a celebration of achievement and a strategic alignment of the school’s core values.
Workshop Pillars: Beyond the Alphabet
The training, themed “How to be a good preschool teacher?”, moved beyond basic lesson planning to focus on the holistic development of the educator:
- Innovative Teaching Methods: Sharing fresh, age-appropriate pedagogical techniques to keep young learners engaged through play-based and interactive English instruction.
- Effective Classroom Management: Strategies to create a structured yet nurturing environment that maximizes learning time for children aged 3–6.
- Professional Ethics & Virtue: Aligning with BELTEI’s motto, teachers explored the importance of “Morality and Virtue” in the classroom, ensuring they serve as positive role models for their students.
- Experience Sharing: A collaborative forum where teachers from different branches could exchange “real-world” success stories and solutions to common classroom hurdles.
Why Preschool Specialization Matters
From our perspective at Schools Cambodia, the “Starter to Preschool 6” levels are the most critical years for language development. A teacher’s ability to instill confidence and curiosity at this stage determines a student’s academic trajectory for years to come.
By training 247 teachers simultaneously, BELTEI is ensuring consistency of quality across its entire network. Whether a student is in Branch 1 or Branch 30, they are receiving instruction from a teacher who has been equipped with the latest tools in “Quality, Effectiveness, and Excellence.”
