Beyond the Classroom: Westline Students Explore the Heart of Kampot Phum Thmey
KAMPOT, February 2026 — Students from The Westline School, Toul Svay Prey Branch, recently traded their textbooks for travel bags as they embarked on an immersive study trip to Kampot Phum Thmey. This vibrant community, known for its scenic streams and traditional lifestyle, served as the perfect backdrop for a day of discovery and growth.
A Multi-Dimensional Learning Adventure
The trip was carefully designed to balance “fun and fundamentals,” offering the juniors a 360-degree educational experience:
- Cultural Immersion: Students studied the unique lifestyle of the local stream community, gaining a deeper appreciation for traditional Cambodian customs and heritage.
- Environmental Stewardship: Being surrounded by nature allowed students to learn about local ecosystems and the importance of preserving Cambodia’s natural water sources.
- Practical Life Skills: Navigating a new environment away from home helped students develop independence and practical living knowledge.
- Teamwork in Action: Group activities throughout the trip encouraged students to collaborate, communicate, and solve problems together.
Where Fun and Education Meet
The Westline School believes that the most memorable lessons are those experienced firsthand. By stepping into the “land of Kampot Phum Thmey,” students didn’t just hear about community life—they felt it. This journey provided them with a sense of wonder and a practical understanding of how culture and the environment intersect, returning them to Phnom Penh with new perspectives and stronger friendships.
