Empowering Battambang: The New Banan Teacher Development Center is Now Open
BATTAMBANG PROVINCE, February 2026 — SeeBeyondBorders (SBB) is proud to announce that the Teacher Development Center in Banan District is officially complete and operational. Part of the larger Transform Education Project, this newly restored and fully equipped facility is set to become a hub for pedagogical excellence in the region.
A Space for Collaborative Growth
The center is designed to support the “human capital” of our schools—the educators. By providing a modern environment for adult learning, the center offers several key functions:
- Communities of Practice: A dedicated space for teachers to share experiences and solve classroom challenges together.
- Workshops & Training: Hosting regular professional development sessions for teachers, mentors, and master mentors.
- Collaborative Research: A resource-rich environment where educators can conduct research to improve teaching methodologies.
- Peer Learning: Built on the philosophy that learning grows stronger for teachers when they collaborate, just as it does for students.
Support and Sustainability
The Transform Education Project in Battambang is a testament to international cooperation and a shared vision for SDG 4: Quality Education.
- Australian Government Support: The project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).
- Strategic Partnership: Collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) ensures the project meets high standards for educational impact.
By investing in teacher development centers, the project ensures that the quality of education in rural districts like Banan continues to rise, providing teachers with the tools they need to inspire the next generation.
