History in Motion: FICAS 5th Grade Students Explore the Royal Palace
Students in the Khmer Language Curriculum at FICAS recently bridged the gap between theory and practice with an enriching educational field trip to the Royal Palace. This excursion offered 5th-grade students a firsthand look at the architectural testimony of Khmer civilization and one of Cambodia’s most significant historical landmarks.
An Immersive Historical Experience
The study tour was designed to provide meaningful, real-world learning that goes beyond the classroom walls:
- Architectural Study: Students observed the history and importance of landmark structures, including the Silver Pagoda, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
- Cultural Symbolism: The visit allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the architectural beauty and cultural symbolism that form the core of Cambodia’s national heritage.
- Skill Development: Beyond history, the trip fostered essential skills in observation, teamwork, and information gathering as students prepared to write a final report after the visit.
- National Pride: The experience was intended to promote patriotism and instill pride in the nation’s cultural cultural heritage.
