Innovation in Action: Western International School Hosts STEAM Education Fair 2026
PHNOM PENH, February 14, 2026 — While many were celebrating Valentine’s Day, students at the Western International School (WIS) Boeung Chhouk campus were celebrating the power of intellect and creativity. The school successfully hosted its STEAM Education Fair for the 2025–2026 academic year, turning the campus into a vibrant gallery of scientific inquiry and artistic design.
What is STEAM?
Unlike traditional education, STEAM doesn’t teach subjects in isolation. Instead, it encourages students to use multiple disciplines to solve a single problem. At the fair, student projects demonstrated:
- Scientific Inquiry: Testing hypotheses through rigorous experimentation.
- Engineering Design: Building prototypes and models to solve everyday challenges.
- Artistic Integration: Using design thinking to make technical projects user-friendly and aesthetically engaging.
Excellence in Presentation
The highlights of the day were the students themselves. From primary to secondary levels, participants showcased:
- Technical Proficiency: Explaining the complex mechanics behind their robotics and coding projects.
- Public Speaking: Confidently presenting their findings to a panel of judges, parents, and peers.
- Creative Problem Solving: Addressing real-world issues like environmental sustainability and urban planning through their exhibits.
Congratulations to all the participating students for their dedication and for setting a high standard of academic excellence at Western International School.
