A Heart for the Kingdom: SISC Hosts Successful Community Wellness Day
PHNOM PENH, February 2026 — Southbridge International School Cambodia (SISC) recently transformed its campus into a hub of health and hope for its annual Community Wellness Day. In a powerful display of civic duty, the event brought together families, staff, and medical professionals to support the well-being of both the school community and the wider Cambodian public.
Partnership for Public Health
The success of the day was driven by a collaborative effort between SISC and leading health organizations:
- Intercare Hospital: Provided essential health checks and expert medical guidance, allowing families and staff to prioritize their physical health through professional screenings.
- National Blood Transfusion Center (NBTC): Facilitated a life-saving blood donation drive. The generosity of SISC parents and guardians directly replenished the national blood supply, a critical resource for hospitals across Cambodia.
Education Through Action
For SISC students, Community Wellness Day served as a living classroom. By observing their parents and teachers participate in blood donations and health checks, students gained a deeper understanding of:
- Community Responsibility: Realizing that individual actions can make a “meaningful difference” in the lives of the Cambodian people.
- Health Awareness: Normalizing medical check-ups and the importance of preventive care from a young age.
- The Spirit of Giving: Embodying the school’s values of kindness, care, and active participation.
SISC expressed immense pride in the community’s enthusiastic participation, noting that the event’s success reflects the strong bond of collaboration that defines the school. Initiatives like these ensure that SISC graduates are not only academically proficient but also compassionate citizens of the world.
