AI-Powered Education: MoEYS Discusses New Teaching Methodologies for High Schools
PHNOM PENH, February 19, 2026 — In a forward-thinking move toward digital education, H.E. Dr. San Vatna, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, chaired a critical discussion meeting at the Center for Digital and Distance Education (CDDE). The session focused on the development of a groundbreaking training program aimed at modernizing teaching methodologies and assignment structures across Cambodian high schools.
Transforming Teaching with the “AI Platform”
The meeting brought together leadership and educators from the New Generation School (NGS) program and Preah Sisovath High School. The central focus was the creation of an innovative AI Platform designed to act as a digital assistant for teachers.
Key Features of the AI Project:
- Problem-Solving Interface: Teachers can input specific classroom challenges or student needs, and the AI provides tailored pedagogical solutions.
- Customized Assignments: The platform helps teachers build assignments that match their specific teaching style and the real-world situation of their students.
- Blueprint-Aligned Assessment: The AI will assist in generating examination questions that strictly follow the official “Blueprint” of various class levels, ensuring standardized quality across the board.
- Data-Driven Input: Stakeholders from the New Generation Schools are providing real-world feedback to refine the AI’s ability to respond to Cambodian classroom dynamics.
Modernizing the Classroom Experience
This initiative reflects a broader commitment to the “Duraseksa” vision—leveraging technology to ensure that distance and digital education are not just alternatives, but enhancements to traditional learning. By automating the more technical aspects of lesson planning and question building, the Ministry aims to give teachers more time to focus on student engagement and mentorship.
The meeting concluded with a call for continued collaboration to ensure the platform is user-friendly and highly effective for teachers in both urban and rural high school settings.
